Few more flood pictures

More of the golf course...

Field by Leo & Jackies

Their barns...

Bye bye road.

Hugely swelled river by Ebenezer Flats.  Note the CTV truck.  And the sandbag dike that you can see on the right side of the river is the one that we put up on the first day (Monday).  Sooo glad that it's still holding up - it's bought people a LOT of time.  There's an evacuation alert for all of Kidd Road, and an evacuation order for most of 22nd Ave... The insanity continues.  I have some mindblowing pictures from Uncle Harry's house, but they're on Courtney's camera, so it might be a couple days for those ones.  Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers!

Anyone for a round of golf?

Two pictures of Riverside Golf Course - just to give you a TINY idea of what's going on around here these days... Absolute insanity.  I have been sandbagging for 2 days straight (mostly around Ebenezer Flats) and there's no end in sight.  We had more than 200 volunteers in one spot today, and I imagine that's the story in many other spots as well.  Forecast calls for heavy rain, and rising temperatures.   And the latest rumour is that the power could be going out anytime, for up to 2 weeks.  (emphasize on RUMOUR.  keep your fingers crossed for us!).  We're all getting very exhausted though.  And a little discouraged.  Bed time for me!

Lots of (random) pictures

Haha.  Cousin Julie and I tried to take a picture to prove that we look alike.  I think we failed.

"The boys" pretending to be tough.  Family picnic dinner at Buck Creek Falls.

Hehe.  I like this one.  Neither of us knew that the other was sticking out their tongue as well :)

More posers.  So cute.

Britt and Cheri take a turn.

Aaaw :)

A few of us ladies, dressed up for our "80s rocker chicks" themed birthday party for Caitlin :)

Too cute...

Reading Chandra's "kids say the cutest things" post inspired me to share this little story...
One of my sunday school students has a VERY seriously short attention span... He's a sweet little boy at times, but a little terror 98% of the time...  I'm well aware of the fact that he does not listen very well to the lessons, but am generally okay with that fact as long as he's not distracting ALL of the other kids... Anyways, today's lesson was about Levi the "TAX collector".  Upon completion of the lesson, I ask each child an individual question about the lesson, before allowing them out of the classroom.  When this little guy's turn came, I asked him "Alright bud, can you tell me what Levi did for a job?".  To my surprise, he very seriously considered the question and then his face lit up, and he was genuinely convinced that he had the correct answer when he shouted out "TAXi driver!!!"  Wow it took me a while to wipe the smile off of my face :) Too tell you the truth, I was proud of him :)  At least he was ALMOST listening, right? :)

Few more... Very out of order.

Art and me snorkeling!  So incredible...

Lovin' the jeepo...

Kim and Nich snorkeling!

Havin' a moment on the beach... (We stood there for a long time, b/c we kept sinking deeper into the sand every time another wave rolled out.  Very cool).

I know my dress looks funny in the first one, but when Kami saw this picture she said "Aww, Lindsey's a princess!", so I just had to include it :)  At the luau on friday night...

Kim and Linz before the wedding.

Bride and Groom and pastor Art Dykstra.   And baby Lucas who I got to meet for the first time at Vancouver airport! :)

Haha.  I'm so obviously posing.  Lame but fun.

View of the pool from one of our decks...

Big smiles at Bubba Gump Shrimp.  Such a great restaurant.  But sad it's our last night :(

Surfin' lessons.

Surfing!

Me snorkeling!

Turtle one...

Turtle two!
